Professional Nanny – Blackburn / Preston
A warm and welcoming family are seeking an experienced, nurturing and highly professional nanny to care for their baby aged 6 months. This is a wonderful opportunity for a career nanny with excellent baby experience who is passionate about early years development and supporting children through key milestones in a calm, engaging and attentive environment.
The family also have a 3-year-old child who attends nursery four days per week, therefore the primary focus of the role will be the baby and all associated nursery duties.
The family are looking for a long-term nanny who is proactive, organised and genuinely passionate about child development, learning and creating a happy and secure environment for young children to thrive.
Role Structure
July – October 2026
- Location: Blackburn
- Days: Mondays & Tuesdays
- Hours: 9am – 5pm
- Start Date: July 2026
From October 2026
- Location: Cottam
- Days: Monday – Friday
- Hours: 9am – 5pm
- Salary: £16 gross per hour
- Long-term, full-time role
The family are also open to considering this as two separate positions:
- A part-time nanny role based in Blackburn (July–October)
- A full-time nanny role based in Preston from October onwards
Duties Will Include
- Sole charge care of the baby
- Supporting developmental milestones through age-appropriate activities and play
- Creating stimulating and engaging routines to encourage learning and development
- Preparing bottles, meals and snacks for the children
- Managing naps and maintaining routines
- Nursery duties including children’s laundry, tidying play areas and organising toys/clothing
- Supporting emotional, social and physical development
- Occasional care of the older sibling outside nursery hours
- Planning outings, sensory activities and developmental play
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Extensive baby and early years experience
- Strong understanding of developmental milestones and child-led learning
- A warm, calm and nurturing nature
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A proactive and professional approach
- Previous private household or long-term nanny experience preferred
- The ability to create a safe, stimulating and loving environment
